While waiting for my latest concoction to cool, I have decided to open this blog—suggested by my lovely girlfriend—about the various things I tend to eat that most people would likely…tend to not eat. The beauty of eating the way I do is that nearly everything I eat is at least somewhat healthy. I’ll give some background on how I got here—from being a super picky eater, no less—some day, but for now, on with the show.
To start out, I’ll let you know what I’ve got cooling on the table as I type. Rummaging through the cabinets, I ended up mixing a few spoons of sweet creamed corn and vegetarian brown baked beans together in a bowl and seasoning it with onion flakes, garlic powder, chili powder, parsley flakes and black pepper. Yes, I pretty much just used whatever I saw in the cupboard that sounded like it might be good. Then, I simply microwaved until I heard a loud pop (not part of the plan…not too sure what it was, but oh well. Everything seems fine.)
Now, many or most of you would probably say something along the lines of “eww.” But rarely do I take a bite of such creations and find them to be any less than delicious. In fact, I’ll sample this one right now. It should be cool enough.
…
Just as I suspected. A delectable treat for the taste buds. Sweet, spicy, delicious. If I had to do anything differently, I would probably skip the garlic powder since the chili powder already has some and the baked beans have garlic flavoring, so it might be a bit excessive and I like to at least imagine somewhat of a balance. It definitely doesn’t hinder any enjoyment though.
Well, that’s basically the gist of this blog concept so far. Maybe I’ll somehow elaborate on it in the future. For now, stay tuned for the next installment of Eccentric Eating! Perhaps I’ll even make some retroactive posts from some prime memories.
